The New “Digital Voice Communication Switching System" (DVCS System) at BIA Declared Open

The new “Digital Voice Communication Switching System (DVCS System) at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) was declared open on August 23, 2023. 

This project has been entirely funded by AASL at Rs 670 million, and this new DVCS system manages all the technical overhead by automatically relaying the Air Traffic Controllers' communication through these air ground stations towards aircraft. It plays a vital role as it gives access to all the communications through a single touch display in front of Air Traffic Controllers.

Chandrasiri, Chairman of Airport Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL), Mr. P.A. Jayakantha, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, Mr. A Galketiya, Vice Chairman AASL, and other senior officials of AASL attended the event.
